Fafo image/bildeNew Fafo report on prison interventions for violent and sexual offenders

13.07.2005
In spite of widespread media coverage of sexual and violent crimes, much of the professional work done with the offenders inside prison to reduce the risk of future offending is unknown to the public. This report gives a glimpse into the world of offender rehabilitation aimed at violent and sexual offenders, by presenting five different interventions currently in operation in Norway. The report presents what is known so far about the results of the interventions, and points out where the documentation is weak or missing. Findings are based on documentation provided by the interventions themselves, supplemented by interviews with staff and participants. The report concludes with some common challenges all of the five interventions face when it comes to systematically documenting what they do, in order to prepare the ground for future evaluations.arrowMore about the report (in Norwegian)
