The Fafo researchers Morten Bøås and Anne Hatløy (see picture) have got NOK 3.8 millions to study autochthony and land rights in Côte d'Ivoire, Liberia, DRC and Mali. The project is financed through The Research Council of Norway's Peace and Poverty Programme, and it will last for two years.arrowRead more about the project here

Top management's salaries are of current interest right before this year's wage settlement. Fafo has established a management salary index, but available data are insufficient. Top management salaries are important in wage formation in Norway, and it's hard to argue for moderation among ordinary workers if top leaders diverge siginficantly from wage developments among other groups, says Fafo researcher Håvard Lismoen.arrow Read more and download Lismoen's paper here (in Norwegian)

Fafo researcher Espen Løken will be speaking at Harvard University on how trade unions can use the internet to their advantage, as part of the conference 'Networked Labor: The Future of Unions and the Internet'. The conference will be held from 23-25 March. Løken is the Norwegian editor of LabourStart, and one of the Fafo researchers active in the Harvard program on inequality and social policy.
