Red FlagsDebate on liability risks for companies in high risk zones

Lloyd’s Charities Trust will 15 July host a a debate on liability risks for companies operating in high-risk zones. The event is being held in association with Fafo and International Alert. The debate will examine the legal liabilities of a company operating internationally and some of the elements of working in and with areas affected by violence, covered in the Red Flags guide launched 23 May by International Alert and Fafo.

Cooperation agreement with the Chinese Party School

Signing of the agreement

Fafo has just signed a five year cooperation agreement with the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The intention of the agreement is cooperation in research and academic exchange about public management and politics and the role of the state in market economies. Of particular interest is the Norwegian model of the welfare state. The cooperation will include common seminars and conferences, stays for guest researchers, exchange of publications and common research projects. Fafo will be drawing on different Norwegian research communities and institutions to provide a base for broad contact between the Party School and Norway.

Chief of Staff Zang Zhongjhun from the Party School and Jon Pedersen from Fafo signed the agreement in a ceremony also attended by the Norwegian Minister of the Environment and International Development, Erik Solheim.
