Fatah after the Conference:
Prospects for Palestinian politics

Breakfast seminar at Fafo 23rd October 2009 08.30-09.45,
Borggata 2B Oslo

Palestinian politics is in turmoil after the PA’s flip-flop on the Goldstone report. Reconciliation talks between Fatah and Hamas are at risk. Peace talks are stalled. Fatah concluded its first party conference in 20 years in August, but what, if anything, has changed?  Did Abu Mazen secure his position in the summer only to put a question mark over his leadership in the autumn? The discussion will focus on the politics within Fatah after the party conference and how recent events have affected Palestinian politics in general.
