Sichuan recovering from the disaster:
One year of restoration and rebuilding

One year after the devastating earthquake in Sichuan in May 2008, the vast majority of those who lost their houses have a new dwelling. New health reforms have been implemented after the earthquake, giving better health coverage to people. But unemployment and corruption are still major challenges in the area. This are some of the results from two large scale surveys conducted by Fafo, together with Chinese partners. At this breakfast seminar we presented the results from the work conducted in Sichuan in 2008 and 2009.
