UNITAID - Global Solidarity contribution to
reach
the Millenium Development Goals
Breakfast seminar at Fafo May 21st 2010, 08.30-09.45,
Borggata 2B Oslo
UNITAID’s mission is to contribute to scaling up access to treatment for hiv/aids, malaria and tuberculosis, primarily for people in low-income countries, by leveraging price reductions for quality diagnostics and medicines and accelerating the pace at which these are made available.
UNITAID began with the Millennium Development Goals linked to healthcare solely because these are easier to quantify. This has served primarily to demonstrate that Innovative Financing is a powerful tool towards attaining all the Millennium Development Goals, including those linked to poverty and climate change.
At this breakfast seminar four French lecturers will focus on how UNITAID contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
