This conference is organised by the Ministry of Local Government and regional Development in co-operation with the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It brings together scholars and practitioners in the field of slum eradication as well as notable politicians such as the Minister of Housing in South Africa, Ms Brigitte Mabandla, the Norwegian Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Ms Erna Solberg, the Minister of the Environment, Mr Børge Brende, and the State Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Mr Olav Kjørven.
