The aim of the project is to build up local knowledge on collective agreements
and bargaining. The first step will be to help set up computerised membership
records for all six industrial federations. FAFO will subsequently conduct
a survey in Gaza on wages and working conditions among wage-earners. Based
on the survey, a set of standard collective agreements will be developed
for use at the company level.
Commissioned by: Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The aim of the project is to bridge the gap between the negotiators/leaders
and the members of the public, in order to expose more people to the peace
process, its current situation, and its predicted results. The project
will take steps to foster public debate and involvement, to remove thresholds
for interaction, and to increase people-to-people exchanges and interaction
within social, cultural, economic and educational areas.

This PhD dissertation aims at analyzing the basis for and the outcome of
the practice of citizenship policies in three countries: Lebanon, Jordan
and Kuwait. The project attempts to examine the state's use of citizenship
policies, i.e. membership of a state, as a formal political instrument
in order to manifest or protect existing political structures in the Middle
East.
