Organizational review of World Wildlife Fund (WWF) – Norway
The evaluation of WWF-Norway was conducted jointly by the Norwegian Institute of Political Affairs (NUPI) and Fafo. The evaluation examines the organization’s ability to provide effective aid, with a focus on four areas:

  • WWF’s role as a civil society agent and its capacity to support civil society development.
  • Relevance of WWF’s work to Norwegian development policies, national policies and local communities.
  • Capacity and risks within financial management, project management and general institutional capacity.
  • Results: focusing on quality of reporting, effectiveness and efficiency, and added value.

Social Democracy in VietNam
The project aims to assist Vietnamese scholars and policy makers to form a considered view on the various models of social democracy found in Europe, with focus on the Nordic models.

Sichuan Earthquake Victim Survey
The project is a rapid assessment of the situation, characteristics and coping strategies of the population in Sichuan following the May 12, 2008 earthquake. A survey of about 4000 households is fielded the 40 most affected counties. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development.
(Prosjektet er en rask kartlegging av befolkningen i Sichuan etter jordskjelvet som rammet 12 mai 2008. Prosjektet innebærer en utvalgsundersøkelse av om lag 4000 hushold i de 40 mest rammede distriktene i Sichuan. Prosjektet er et samarbeid mellom Fafo og Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development.)

Analysis of 4 cities of the developing world
The project analyzes socio-economic and health data from 4 cities of the developing world (Addis Ababa, Alexandria, La Paz and Manilla) to evaluate the state of the urban poor living in slums vis a vis citizens in planned parts of town by looking at their access to basic services such as water, sanitation, health, education and tenure security. The project will contribute to the next State of the World’s Cities report 09/10.
