Strengthening Social Statistics and Monitoring Living Conditions in Jordan

This project aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Jordan's Department of Statistics (DOS) in the collection, processing, and particularly analysis and dissemination of social and other statistics. This objective was primarily achieved through activities in conjunction with the implementation of a multi-topic household survey.

The household survey resulted in an update of national living conditions statistics, including on Palestinian refugees. The survey design ensured data comparable to that of the 1996 Jordan Living Conditions Survey and allowed analysis of trends.
The project was funded by Norway, and lasted from 2001-2006.
