UNRWA Conference on the Humanitarian Needs of Palestinian Refugees (2004)
In June 2004, UNRWA hosted a conference in Geneva under the title "Meeting
the Humanitarian Needs of the Palestine Refugees in the Near East: Building
Partnerships in Support of UNRWA". Jordan's Department of Palestinian
Affairs, being chair of a Working group at the conference, asked Fafo
for assistance in its preparation. Fafo's support came in the form of
three papers on the material and social infrastructure, and environmental
conditions of the refugee camps and other refugee communities in Lebanon,
Syria and Jordan. The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs financed the
work.
