Fafo issued in 1993 the first study of living conditions conducted in the occupied Palestinian Territory. The study was conducted during the first Intifada and depicted the situation in 1992. The study was presented to the plenary meeting in Oslo of the Refugee Working Group of the Multilateral Peace Talks for the Middle East in May 1993. Since then, Fafo has conducted a series of studies commissioned by the Refugee Working Group, in which Norway isthe so-called "Shepherd for Data Bases". Canada is the Gavel holder of the RWG. The bulk of the Fafo work on Palestinian refugees has been directed towards gaining accurate and updated information on their living conditions in the various host countries in the region, with an aim of using such information for advocacy and for planning of humanitarian assistance. Information about the country-specific living conditions can be found under each country. Fafo has living conditions data for Palestinian refugees in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (West Bank and Gaza Strip), The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Republic. We have made a short overview of Fafo's research on Palestinian refugees. Relevant Fafo-reportsFinding Means Final reports: Blome Jacobsen, Laurie.
