Part II Predicate Offenses
The following sections outline the offences that constitute international
crimes, as set out in statutes concerning genocide, war crimes, crimes
against humanity, and certain human rights instruments. The case law summarized
herein describes such predicate offences as they actually or potentially
apply to the behaviour of economic actors in repressive or war-torn states.
This summary seeks to provide legal clarity to ongoing concerns about
the complicity of economic actors in the commission of international crimes,
particularly but not limited to those crimes committed in the context
of armed conflict.
