The project aims to understand global challenges such as good governance, socio-economic development, poverty alleviation, social security, innovation and climate change mitigation in China’s Western region. It will produce high-quality and reliable information for Chinese policy making in the four provinces and will focus particularly on the Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, the project will provide useful input on Chinas progress towards a “Moderately Prosperous Society (小康社会) by 2020”.
