Towards a new Chinese welfare state - conference presentations and panels

The project hosed a panel at the European Association of China Studies bi-annual conference in St Petersburg, August 2016 the panel was called “Perceptions of distributive justice and fairness; foundations and directions of welfare reforms in China”. Four of the project members presented papers related to the project and profiled the project to other European/international China scholars. The panel was well received and good promotion of the project.

Two papers and a general presentation of the larger project were given at The 20th anniversary of the Nordic Center at Fudan University in Shanghai in October 2016. A large audience of representatives from Nordic and Chinese governments, universities and other academic institutions were present.

Upcoming conference presentations:

The project will host a panel at the European Association of China Studies bi-annual conference in Glasgow, August 2018 the panel will be called “Social Policy and Perceptions of Inequality in China”. The project members will make five presentations based on findings from the project and profile the project to other European/international China-scholars.
