Myanmar and Norway have recently initiated long-term development cooperation. A study consisting of establishing and analysing baseline data within selected areas of this cooperation was commissioned by the Evaluation Department in Norad. It was implemented by Fafo-researchers Kristin Dalen, Svein Erik Stave and Amsale Temesgen.
The study delivered three main outputs: it carried out portfolio assessment of Norwegian interventions within environment and natural resources management; it identified substantial gaps in data availability with respect to establishing a baseline for Norwegian interventions and pointed towards potential sources of data currently underway; finally, the study carried out a contextual analysis of capacity development initiatives and developed an impact level baseline indicator system for capacity development initiatives.
