How do ethnicity, disability, and age influence the living conditions of queer people in Norway?
This study is conducted by Nordlandsforskning in collaboration with Fafo, and builds on previous national surveys from 2013 and 2021.
The aim is to gain deeper insights into how living conditions differ among groups such as bisexual and transgender people, and how factors like ethnic background, age, and disability shape their life situations.
The project includes two main components: a nationwide survey on the living conditions of queer people a qualitative sub-study on bisexual individuals, including in-depth interviews and focus groups.
Researcher Helga Eggebø (PhD) at Nordlandsforskning leads the project. The research team includes six experienced researchers from Nordlandsforskning and Fafo: Anne Hege Strand, Huafeng Zhang, Olav Elgvin, Synnøve Jahnsen, Fredrik Langeland, and Iselin Silja Kaspersen. Marta Anna Løvberg, communications advisor at Nordlandsforskning, contributes to dissemination activities.
The project is funded by Bufdir and will run from 2025 to 2027.
