The EU Directive on temporary agency work ( 2008/104/EC) is to be implemented in Norwegian law in 2011. The directive includes a principle of equal treatment as regards working conditions in the temporary work agency and the hiring company, and requires changes in the Norwegian legislation. A similar principle does already exist in several European countries. The paper looks at how this and other regulatory issues are approached in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Germany.
