Interactions between national and labour market based pensions in Norway: pension outcomes and policy processes
Interactions between public and labour market based pensions in Norway: pension outcomes and policy processes.
The purpose of this project is twofold.
Our first aim is to study the actual changes in the overall pension system in Norway: to map the distribution of occupational pension schemes, and to model the resulting benefit levels and other aspects of a changed pension system.
Our second aim is to document and discuss the policy processes leading to the current patterns, and the media representation of the resulting complex pension system.
Finally, we wish to place our analysis in a broader European context.
The primary objective is to improve knowledge and understanding of the complexity of the current pension system, emphasising the public/private mix. Secondary objectives include placing the Norwegian case in a context,
understanding information flows in complex areas, and ultimately to improve the public debate about old age pension issues.
